turks and caicos art & craft expo

turks-and-caicos-art-and-craft-expo-1every year the TCFAF organizes the art & craft expo, showcasing the most beautiful arts and crafts made locally here in the turks and caicos. it took place last weekend, at the salt mills plaza, and we went to check it out. it was a sunny day, and after a very rainy week, it felt like pure joy! there was santa to take pictures with the kids, local roasted coffee for a caffeine fix, refreshing coconut water from our own coconut trees, mouthwatering macarons and also some delicious healthy snacks and drinks. the spa at the regent palms

the-spa-at-regent-palms-by-myseastory-1i’ve been living in turks and caicos for almost 4 year (scary) and honestly, i don’t know why it took me so long to try out the spa at the regent palms. i guess, deep inside, i like having things on my bucket list, and dislike the feeling of having done it all. i had visited the spa, and seen some amazing wedding settings, but last week i finally treated myself to a spa treatment. a few moments after having booked, i received a confirmation email, which i found both professional and helpful, since i tend to forget the exact time of my appointments. 10 days in turks and caicos

my-sea-story-4if you remember this (semi-fake) post, one of the items on my bucket list was to have my dad visit us, and thanks to her, he finally made it to turks and caicos. my parents, my sister and her boyfriend spent 10 amazing days with us and i would love to share a few of the things we did during their stay.

my-sea-story-11my-sea-story-16my-sea-story-1we went to da conch shack for the best cracked conch and fried plantains – my mum bought a gorgeous conch to bring back home as a souvenir – yes, very touristy and we love it!

we went beach-sight-seeing, other than grace bay beach, there are loads of gorgeous beaches on island, we went to pelican beach, emerald point, long bay beach, turtle tail, taylor bay and sapodilla bay. we visited chalk sound national park and the gorgeous chalky water colour.

my-sea-story-18we drank loads of fresh coconut water, from in our garden.

my-sea-story-19my dad took my mum sailing on grace bay beach – next time they’ll go stand up paddle boarding!

my-sea-story-12my-sea-story-7

my dad and james went fishing with silver deep, whilst julia and i took my mum and sister shopping at our favorite store – the boutique at grace bay club. that night, we were lucky to have the best tuna sashimi, caught by them!my-sea-story-3we went to amanyara for the most amazing sunset drinks – i always have their champagne mojito.

my-sea-story-20we went to somewhere – more times than we would like to admit – for some snorkeling at coral gardens, followed by the best pulled pork tacos.

we dipped julia under the water – counted to three, blew on her face, and gulp glup – i was more scared than her, she just reacted a little surprised, and we found it too funny.

my-sea-story-9we had the best beach lunch at stix – our favorite place to have a meal with our feet on the sand.

my-sea-story-10we had smoothies and iced lattes at lemon 2 go, chocolate chips cookies, so good we had to eat them before taking any picture.

my-sea-story-13sometime my family would go out sightseeing or relaxing by the beach, james was working, whilst i stayed home with julia napping, and then we would get together for some more playtime. julia loves being in the water, but this was her first encounter with the sand, it was so funny to see her curious reaction.

my-sea-story-6we had the best family meals at home and relaxed for hours at the beach and played with julia in the water!

thank you mum and dad, for coming to visit, thanks ines and nuno for joining, for spoiling and making julia laugh non stop! we had the best time ever and can’t wait to have you back ♡

baby break at parrot cay

baby break at parrot cay | myseastoryfor my birthday, last month, we wanted to take it very easy, julia and i had just been back to provo for over a month and we were still getting the hang of it. so we decided to get away and spend the day close by, at parrot cay.

our lunch faves – clockwise starting top left – tuna tataki: gypsy salad: pannacota with berries sorbet: cesar with prawns.

we are so lucky that we have this beautiful resort so close to us – we took the morning boat and in 20 minutes we were there. we were getting the last boat back at 5.30, giving us enough time to have a relaxing lunch by the pool, and enjoy the beach for a couple of hours before heading back to provo.

baby break at parrot cay | myseastorywe weren’t sure how it would work out with the stroller, getting on the boat, access to the restaurant and the beach. we were given a room for the day in case we needed a changing, feeding, napping break, so that was really helpful.

this is MY bed, you can take the crib!

baby break at parrot cay | myseastoryjulia loves hotels – she’s takes after her mum and dad – and loved spending the day here. the resort is not tailored to baby / baby strollers, there are a couple of steps here and there that make it a little more challenging, but some rooms have easier access, and the staff was so friendly, somehow everything worked out. we look forward to coming back soon!
