september is typically the quietest month on island, it’s the peak of tropical storms and hurricane season, and most restaurants are closed for vacation and refurbishment. ours was quite the opposite, with all the packing and organizing for our move. it was also a very emotional month, saying “see you soon” (would hate to say good bye!), spending as much time as we could with our friends and trying to make the most out of (barefoot) island life – we still managed to fit in one more trip to parrot cay and a long overdue weekend in south caicos. now, we’re so ready for what october has to offer!

guest post ~ luz
my sweet, sweet friend Luz (Luz means light in english, doesn’t she have the coolest name?) came to visit last month, and i couldn’t be happier to have her around for a whole week, to share my life in provo with her and have than enough time to catch up! we took her out to our favourite beaches and restaurants, and asked her to share her opinion on provo.
what do you think makes turks and caicos (providenciales) so special –
- The nice temperature, day and night
- The beautiful wild beaches and conch
- The silence that I so much wished for
- Everybody saying “Hi” everywhere, every time
- A sand on the beach that doesn’t burn our feet
- The gorgeous bougainvillea everywhere
what were your favourite things to do whilst on island –
- Watching the most amazing sunsets
- The Lemon 2 Go Coffee, it’s the coolest coffee shop I know
- The great meals at the restaurants all around the island; Le Bouchon, The Vix, Caicos Cafe and Somewhere.
would you recommend to a friend – Certainly!
thank you, Light, for guest posting on myseastory!

his dive story / 46
I am starting to really enjoy taking pics with my new wide and macro lens along with the new compact INON flash. I am still playing with the set ups as there are so many variations!
This past sunday, we went to Northwest point where I love to dive as the walls there by Amanyara Resort are just incredibly amazing to look at.
Our first dive was at the Amphitheater and we took the right wall. I went down deep and turned on the HD video to show you the beautiful landscape.
Then there are the sea life including a very cool star fish stuck on a blueish/violet fan. Well, enjoy.

turks and caicos beaches // the bight
yesterday james was eager to take a few pictures with his new dome lens (it allows taking pictures with the lens half under water and over water) so we made a quick stop at the bight.
when we got there the beach was beautiful, with the sailing boats on the background.
the sun was really hot, and bright, reflecting on the white sand, i could almost not see the screen on the my camera!
we were talking about how lucky we are in turks and caicos, that we get 1 spare hour and we can actually make a pit stop at the beach, go for a quick dive and relax for a while in between plans.
although we have warm weather all year round, we actually start feeling more summery – definitely hotter, the sea water is warmer and some say more humid too.
