friends

my long weekend began on thursday, when more than 80 friends and family came for  my friends’ wedding, here in provo. they are all staying at the sibonne hotel, having the hotel and beach all for themselves! we started with a welcome bbq at grace bay beach, a day out on the boat snorkeling and eating conch, and a fun rehearsal dinner watching the sunset at somewhere.

it’s great to have friends over, celebrate their special day and meet their wonderful guests who have come from all over the world, new york, spain, denmark and so on. since the bride is venezuelan and the groom is spanish i get to practice my spanish too! plus, i really get to enjoy the island, as if i were on vacation myself!

today is the big day and i can’t wait to see the beautiful bride and groom getting married on our beach!

this has been a truly fun weekend to remember.

hoping you all have an amazing weekend as well!

craving these…

i am so craving these right now!

my all time fish tacos favourite on island are the ones from somewhere, but the ones i had at parrot cay are to die for. yes, i would go all the way to the next door island just for them! i tell you, they are so worth it…

happy weekend

what are your plans for this weekend?

i’m so excited about next week! a close friend from school, when i was growing up in madrid, is getting married here in provo. so we’ll be having a three day celebration, and i’ll be seeing three other friends that i haven’t seen since we were 14!

happy weekend friends!

guest post ~ inês

i was so excited to have my inês over, she’s actually much more than just my sister, she’s my friend, and also some kind of a daughter – we are 15 years apart!  surprisingly she is a great actress, ubber stylish and has an amazing blog (the pop up store), where she sells her fashion finds.
what do you think makes turks and caicos (providenciales) so special?
This might sound silly, but I think one of the things that makes Provo so special is the fact that there is always enough of everything for everyone! Let me explain: there’s always enough beach for everyone, it’s never crowded! There’s always another restaurant to try out! Always more sea to explore! Always more coral to find! Always more activities to do (parasailing, horse-back riding, going to the Conch Farm, seeing the glow-worms)! Always more seashells to pick! Always more hotels to visit! Always more island to explore! Always more of everything to do! There are so many different things to do, that your visit to Provo can be catered to your own taste. Your personal experience of Provo will ALWAYS be different from someone else’s visit!
But the fact that the beaches are NEVER crowded has to be what most impressed me!
what were your favorite things to do whilst on island?
Obviously diving! I got my PADI Open Water Diver license, and enjoyed every dive til the last breath! I went diving in Five Cays and French Cay;  next time I’m over I’ll have to visit all the other diving sites!
would you recommend to a friend?
I would (and do!) most definitely recommend Providenciales to a friend! However, I also recommend that you do your homework before coming! Your stay will be a lot more enjoyable if you know where the best beaches are, which are the best restaurants, what the best activities are, so you can make the best out of them!

his dive story

Well, I had another great dive this past Sunday at Northwest Point. Lately, I have been diving with Sarah, an instructor, who is coming out on Sundays for recreational diving only.

Funny enough we both are practicing taking photos with our cameras and strobe and learning as we go. I discovered that I could actually add more red to my underwater pics by adjusting the WB which I am only discovering now after 3 years! Anyway, enjoy the turtle, lobster and the shark. I am compiling some macro pics for next week!
