vik muniz

i’ve been a fan of vik muniz for a while, he is one inspiring artist, not only for his creativity, but also for the amount of work he’s done creating awareness to brazilian communities… a few weeks ago i went over to museu berardo, in lisbon, to see an exhibition on his retrospective. he uses dust, peanut butter, diamonds, caviar and even garbage for his pieces.

if you’re in new york, go check out a few of his work at sikkema jenkins & co art gallery.

ps – and if you’re interested in buying one of his art pieces, go here ;)

gone fishing

we love eating grilled sardines in the summer, i’m a big fan, it’s a very portuguese thing, plus they’re  super healthy.

a few weeks ago i stumbled upon these ones hand painted in perfection by marina, the owner of mageiko arte batik.

this one came with me to turks and caicos – i’m pretty in love with them all!

happy kings’ day

it’s our first weekend back, so we are planning to have a quiet one. in the meantime i daydream of my vacation destinations for this year, and i am hoping for two on this list – new york times 45 places to go in 2012 – havana in cuba and samana in dominican republic.

by the way, last week i was featured at sunshine girl, so if you haven’t seen it yet go right HERE.

wishing you a happy king’s day and have a great weekend!

the weather is warm and i am loving the looks of the sky!

snorkeling dream day

last year, when my family was over to visit, we went on a half day tour with caicos dreams – whenever we have visitors we always recommend doing this, and of course we always want to join!

we left turtle cove marina, picking up other guests from hotels at grace bay beach and headed to a perfect snorkeling spot – it was so peaceful, we just didn’t want to get out of the water!

how funny do we look on underwater pictures!

we then went for some serious conch picking and iguana watching – promise to keep u posted very soon.
