his dive story…

to the cuttlefish, I love these slimy creatures that hide under corals and crevices. I have seen much less octopus here  in Turks & Caicos than I had when I was diving weekly in Lagos and Sagres in the Algarve, Portugal. This was the first octopus that actually was out in the open. You can see that he/she is trying to intimidate us by expanding itself to show it’s size.

On another note, I miss eating a nice fresh polvo salad!

have a healthy weekend

we had a busy week in provo, it seems everybody is finally back from vacation and back into routine.

james and i watched two documentaries that are making us rethink the way we eat – food inc and forks over knives, have you seen them? it really opened our eyes to how the food industries have evolved in an unhealthy way, and it’s up to us, consumers, not to accept  the processed and full of chemical product that are out there in the supermarkets.

we are not radicals, and in provo you can’t be because there aren’t many options, but whenever possible, we want to go for the veggies, the fruit, the grains and the unprocessed, the organic and the locally grown.

food for thought…hoping you have great weekend!

ps – i guest posted at running heels this week, go check it out HERE

garam masala

last night we went to garam masala for dinner, it’s one of my favourite places. i’ve always loved indian food… was so happy when they opened last year.

we had vegetable samosas – they remind me of home; murg kadhai (ok, maybe a little too spicy for me…), murg korma and lots of garlic naan – so delicious! another favourite is the seekh kebab (not pictured); minced lamb meat cooked in a tandoor.

for reservations call +1 646.344.4622 OR +1 649.941.3292, they are open for lunch and dinner, closed on tuesdays.

half way through

i know we’re almost half way through, but i’m sure there’s still loads of time to make the most out of it. i finished the week with a walk on the beach with a couple of friends…at 6.30 in the morning! at first i thought they were going crazy, but it turns out to be a great way to start the day, and it’s not too hot either. i might make it a good way to start the week too!

enjoy what is left of it – oh and go check my guest post over at my tea break – i’m such a tea addict!
