happy weekend

we took this picture last week in blue hills, i’ve always loved this part of the island. whenever we have visitors over, we always bring them here – you can see the real caribbean feel, like this colorful hut (these candy coloured houses and this coloured palm tree!).

i hope you get to celebrate mother’s day in style, this weekend. since mothers day in portugal was last weekend…we celebrated on skype! have a good one friends!

on the go

i always have this beach bag ready for a last minute beach initiative. it’s hanging on my room and this is what i bring with me, if you would like to see. i just add the sunscreens, fill in the bottle, mobile, camera, and i’m on the go!

clockwise from top left – glass bottle with lemonade in it (i hate the plastic ones that are so hard to wash) by bkr – bath style cotton peshtemel turkish beach towel from etsy – colorblock bikini (i love to mix and match different colors) by j crew – emanating light clutch (perfect for all the sunscreens, lotions, mobile phone, camera) from anthropology – kindle filled with books (got it since i moved here and don’t plan to move dozens of books back someday) from amazon – hepcat shades in beach pebble from madewell – short brim fedora from hat attack.

orchids

when we went to parrot cay for a short break a few weeks ago, i noticed they had beautiful lush gardens and orchids all over the island – then i looked closer and realized they actually plant orchids on the trees!  i had never seen this before, this is such an awesome idea, and it gives an original effect.

his dive story

Hi everyone, I’m back!

There are times when I wish I hadn’t gone diving as the weather, yes, does get bad and worse, there is no sunshine! Well this past Sunday was amazing…. It was by far one the best days in a couple of months and mind you I only go on Sundays….

Dave, the boat captain and owner of Provo Turtles, asked me where I wanted to go and I said Northwest Point and that was it. There was only 5 of us on the boat which is GREAT!

Our first dive as at a site called two steps and I went deep (42m) and got narc…. What a great feeling! The second dive didn’t have a name and it was near the canyons. We all jumped in and it was an amazing dive with great viz but it was at the end of the dive that made it all worthwhile for all of us….

We came upon a group of tiny red squids and they were not shy and loved the attention from all of us, especially the ones with cameras. We were all obsessed with getting that perfect shot! And so here are mine including a short video… enjoy!

happy 5 de mayo weekend

we’ve had a couple of weeks of not-so-good weather, but this weekend looks promising for the beach.  when the weather is not so good it means rain, no beach, no outside dining and basically not much to do – but thankfully that’s all over.

we’re also going to the cinco de mayo festivities by the turtle cove marina, it’s a novelty for me, so i’m looking forward to it. plus, we’re thinking of traveling to mexico later on this year, so it’ll be nice to get us in the mood.

hope you have a great weekend and the sun gets out for you too!
