diving – thunderdome

it’s been a while since i have posted diving pictures…we’ve been off island, plus, james hasn’t been diving, as most of the diving centers have been closed during September.

these pictures are from one of james’ outings to northwest point in the end of august – they went to the thunderdome, the remains of a large sphere built under about 30 feet of water, where they filmed the french tv show in the 90’s.

food adventures in peru

pervian food was a big plus in our trip, they have the freshest fish, fruits and vegetables. did you know that potatoes originated in peru and they have 3000 different types? they also have more than 80 different types of quinoa!

…left to right, top to botton: ceviche from cevicheria don pedrito at the mistura food fair in lima, delicious alpaca carpaccio from el huacatay restaurant in urubamba, beef heart skewers from anticuchos de la tia grima in lima, prickly pear and custard apple juice, fresh in every corner, market and restaurant throughtout peru

this time i made an effort to be (a little!) more adventurous in regards to food and i actually tried beef heart…guinea pig…and alpaca!!

happy, happy weekend

it’s good to be back home, after traveling for two weeks.

it’s nice to be back to my shorts and flip flops and looking at this amazing sea every day. it’s been raining on and off, half an hour this morning and another half an hour yesterday afternoon, but in between the weather is great for the beach…so that’s what we’re doing this weekend. Ah, and we’re planning to get some fresh lobster to bbq!
