happy holidays weekend

happy holidays everyone! how will you be spending your christmas? i can’t believe it’s this time of the year again. for the first time i feel relaxed, as i have already wrapped most of the gifts…and i’m ready to enjoy family quality time!

our christmas marathon starts tonight – mass and family dinner, traditionally we eat codfish and i love it! tomorrow we’ll have pancakes for breakfast and gift exchange at home, followed by a brunch with the entire extended family at my grandmother’s, including my 20 cousins (i’m number 1!).

hope you have a great weekend and see you next week!

ps – i took this picture today, in lisbon we always have sunny weather for christmas.

coming back to london

rita, my so called crazy cousin, is my great buddy and one of my favourite traveling companions – our little trip to london was no exception. we had a blast and she is sharing a little about it today! rita was one of my first friends blogging, if you want to give it a chance at  portuguese check out o que e que tou aqui a fazer and read about her adventures in india, chile, bolivia, and a lot more.

why do i love coming back to london…

I don’t remember how many times I’v been to london, but it’s a place where I love to keep going back. Why is that?
I love going to the local markets, buy fruits and veggies and pretend to live here myself.
I love to marvel myself at the amazingly attractive products and wanting to buy them all.
But most of all, I love coming home with my friends and have the best home made brunch in town, and listen to some live music, while we get everything ready.
I love not to have to rush to go somewhere and just let myself go and get lost in unknown areas of the town.
I love to check new places I didn’t know, such as small cafes or warm bakeries.
but most of all I love to walk in the cold, with great company and loose track of time in those conversations that have been on hold for months.
I love the variety of people you see in the street and getting amazed by so many different cultures.
I love going to musicals as I love going to small intimate plays.
But most of all, I love ending the night eating dim sum and chatting about our day.
I love Christmas crackers, mince pies and Christmas carols.
I love Christmas wrapping paper, having to convert pounds into euros and having a card called oyster.
But most of all, I love knowing I’ll be coming back, and never get tired of it.

happy kitchen / london

for the first time in london, i stayed in east, so it felt like visiting a new city, i loved exploring all the little spots and so many creative coffee shops like happy kitchen. it was just around the corner from where we were staying, so i stopped by for my daily caffeine fix, and bought lots of organic dry fruits to snack whilst shopping and sightseeing.
