a few things {new york}

i know, i know, i’ve been a terrible blogger…but i haven’t stopped lately, and it’s been real good to have a break from the computer, the internet and the so on.

anyway, i’m back! i’m in lisbon, but before i tell u about my stay i wanted to share a few pictures from my trip to new york last week. it was a quick stop, but still managed to get a few things done.

i shopped and loved all the christmas decorations – my jaws dropped with some of the window shops – have you seen bergdorf goodman’s? (sorry, no good picture on those, this one is from american eagle outfitter‘s)

i stocked up on nail varnish and a few other things i miss in turks and caicos.

as i craved burgers and pizza, stopped by pulino’s and bare burger – see my sticky fingers?

london calling

in love with this london neighbourhood prints i found on sweet view via pillar box

i’m in london for the weekend, just poped in to say a quick hello. its pretty cold here but the sun is out, and so nice to be spending some quality time with my crazy cousin rita! i’m hoping to do some sightseeing before heading back to lisbon on monday.

happy weekend – i can’t wait to share a few pictures when I return home!

guest post ~ marta

my cousin marta was in provo for a week, she is all into water sports; sailing, diving, kite surfing is her thing – so i was sure she would fit right in! she stayed for a week and brought our aunt mafalda and her cousin francisca – we had a fab time!

what do you think makes turks and caicos (providenciales) so special?

Its natural beauty is amazing! About the underwater world, I believe i’ll never forget the images i keep dreaming about. Then onshore, at every beach we went, there was always a new detail that took my breath away along with the mixtures of blues and greens of the water. It just feels like getting into the water right away- it’s paradise!

what were your favorite things to do whilst on island?

My number one thing was to go diving. It was my first time with sharks and turtles and it was an amazing experience! The reef walls and all the existing life along with the beautiful underwater gardens are just unforgettable! As a second point, I have to say I loved relaxing on the beach and go for a swim over and over again on those warm waters…

would you recommend to a friend?

I would definitely recommend to a friend specially to a diving fan that wants to relax in paradise! Thank you Joana and James for this amazing and unforgettable week! I had a really good time!!

his dive story…

Joana LOVES sea turtles and I am always in the look out for them in all my dives…a fav of TCI are the hawksbill sea turtles and I dive with Provo Turtle Divers, that is just a walk away from where we live…hawksbill sea turtles are beautiful creatures and this one was feeding and  didn’t care that I was next to it…they feed mostly on a huge variety of sea sponges found in the caribbean…u got to love them!

hello echo

i’m in new york for a couple of days before flying back to europe… i can’t wait to see all the christmas decorations, do a little shopping and catch up with family and friends. it’s weird to switch from shorts, flip flops and bikini to boots, sweater and scarf – but  a month without mosquitoes sounds pretty good!

i took this picture in madison square park last time i was in new york, the serene looking statue by spanish artist jaume plensa. it’s kind of magical, you can’t stop but be attracted to it – and it looks like it’s not really there. hve you seen it?
