december was so busy, and i’m grateful for that, and for the friends and life we have on island. christmas was so much better than i expected, and now we’re excited to be spending time in lisbon. it’s sunny and beautiful, and it’s home.

how do we spend christmas in turks and caicos? it sure is different than in the city, with cold (and cozy) weather, enjoying time together by the fire place and eating roasted chestnuts.
it’s warm and sunny, there is little or no shopping, and we’re in flip flops and short sleeves all day. and because most of us are here without our families, we stick together and enjoy spending christmas with close friends. Continue reading

my mum was over visiting for a couple of weeks, and since she had to overnight in miami on the way to turks and caicos, julia and i flew over for a mid week break of a little bit of shopping, people watching and lots of city walking.
every time james and i go to miami, we rent a car and end up driving back and forth between target, whole foods, aventura mall and also the design district for out favorite restaurants. this time, we decided to stay in south beach, and although the south beach vibe is not exactly our thing, we were determined to enjoy it fully.
