a little update

hey friends – i know i’ve been a little switched off from my myseastory, but believe me, it’s been hard and i miss it! if you’ve been following my pictures on instagram, you know that i’ve been traveling back and forth from lisbon to the north of portugal, where our wedding is taking place, in just three days!

i’ve had a gazillion things to do, since, even though we are planning a small wedding, it will take place in our family home. plus, catching up with family and friends, whom i haven’t seen since the last time i was in portugal.

the one thing that has helped me relax on my breaks is pinterest – logging on and pinning away has helped me forget any obstacles and stressful moments. some of you might think it’s kind of creepy, but it really helped me switch off from the bride mode and live some inspirational moments.

i am finally in the north of portugal now, the list of things to do is almost empty, james is on his way and so is my family and some friends. i really look forward to friday, seeing james after a month and a half, and enjoying the weekend with those who are closest to us.

ps – i thought i’d share a few images of my days in portugal, head over to facebook if you would like to see some more.

hello there

i’ve been super busy getting ready for our wedding… in less than three weeks, time is flying! i am spending a couple of weeks in the north of portugal, ticking the boxes on my to do list, but also enjoying this time of the year here.

we’re staying at our family house, in a small village called bertiandos, close to ponte de lima, in the north of portugal, it’s the eldest portuguese town. i have spent my vacations in this house since i was a baby, so getting married here means the world to me.

actually, one of the canoeists who won a silver medal at the olympics is from ponte de lima, and i met him the other day at the local nautical club. we are so proud.

and it feels so nice to be in the country side! hope you have a lovely week!

this is it

hey peeps, i have some serious good news to share…tcha-dan! exactly a month from today, james and i are tying the knot! yes, you read it right, we’re getting married. james will be coming over for his vacation in september – i know, so soon! we’ll have a small ceremony with friends and family in our family home in portugal.

we’re normally fairly private and shy people, so it’s a little weird to share such a private part of our lives. on the other hand i found it hard to blog and keep such good and happy news away from you.

just two months ago, we were on vacation in mexico (remember this night?) when james popped the question! we are so happy and counting the days for the big day!

lot’s a fish in the sea

i’m a huge fan of portuguese brand jose gourmet – not only their branding is amazingly cool, but their products are delicious too.

canned sea food in olive oil is a big thing in portugal. the last time i went back home, i went to sol e pesca, a bar where you can have a glass of green wine with your choice of can and a basket of bread – the perfect appetizer before dinner!

my favorite were jose gourmet’ventrusca tuna fish and the trout fillets in escabeche – lucky me, i brought a few over last time i came from lisbon.

ceramic

last week my mum and i went to visit the factory of a portuguese ceramic brand…ok, the truth is, what we really went to check out their store!

bordalo pinheiro is a portuguese pottery brand founded in 1885, it is about an hour away from lisbon, and although we can find their pieces sold in shops around lisbon, it is so much more exciting to go directly to the source.

every single portuguese woman has a piece of bordalo pinheiro ceramic at home, they are gorgeous and so affordable.

i dream of collecting tons of mugs and plates and tea pots, and i should’ve definitely brought these little creatures with me!
