The barracuda is a mean looking fish, always glaring at divers!
There is one that they call Elvis at a dive site off Grace Bay called Grace Land. He always swims up to the boat at the end of each dive for some reason. You know he is around when all of a sudden all the yellow snappers just disappear!

guess what friends, i’m in lisbon for a short vacation – i am staying for a while, and heading to london and new york before going back to turks and caicos.
i love surprises and one of my favourites is arriving when no one is expecting me. so i got to that that with my sister, who picked me up at the airport thinking she was picking up a friend, then my dad and mum when they woke up at home, my grandmother when i knocked at her door, and one of my super sweet friends at work. it was hard to keep it a secret from everyone but so worth seeing everyone’s reaction when they expect me to be on the other side of the ocean.
i’ve been having so much fun surprising everyone!

last week i found this new desert beach close to home. a friend suggested we go for a walk on the beach in the afternoon, she had been telling me about this spot for a while.
i like that this beach has two separate bays and lots of stones and rocks give it some personality. and i love that they call it babalua!
babalua beach was deserted, it’s amazing how provo’s beaches are never crowded!
we have such beautiful and easy access to beaches, we often take for granted…sometimes i really have to remind myself to make the most out of island life and provo’s beaches.
i have to confess hard core water sports are not my thing, but then, most of you know that by now! but i do enjoy living by the sea and doing stuff water and beach related.
so i was really excited to try paddle boarding a couple of weeks ago. have you tried it? at first i thought i was going to get bored, it looks so slow and repetitive. i went with three friends and surprisingly we had a great time. we exercised a little, explored the canal and houses around it and even chit chatted with each other. it felt kind of relaxing too!

Hawksbill turtle sightings are frequent in my dives in the TCI and it always amazes me to watch them or swim next to them.
Tourist divers go crazy for these turtles and it’s always a big topic of discussion on the boat after a dive.
Lately, I have been noticing a lot less lion fish at 20 meters depth and have seen more down past 30 meters. I guess these guys are wise to what is happening to them as they are being hunted down with no restraint in the islands.
