last weekend in new orleans

new-orleans-by-myseastory-1as i mentioned on a previous post, we’re ready to soak on all the activities that new orleans has to offer, it was one of the main reasons we left turks and caicos, we were all in for busier weekends. last weekend was surprisingly cold (10C/50F!!) we were totally unprepared for  this! but we still managed to leave the house for a target-less weekend, this is what we were up to – Continue reading

5 things i am loving about new orleans

5-reasons-to-love-new-orleans-by-myseastoryit’s been a month since we moved here, we checked out of our airbnb, found a nice little new orleans house that we’ll be calling home, bought a car, and have all the essentials we need to start living like a local. our moving phase is almost done, and we’re ready to start enjoying our weekends – no more packing, yay!

that being said, here’s the 5 top reasons why we’re in love with this city (so far) – Continue reading

our airbnb in new orleans

new-orleans-airbnb-2

for our first month in new orleans, we rented a house through airbnb. this way we could take our time finding our bearings and exploring the different neighborhoods before choosing a definite place to live.

our airbnb was a typical small new orleans charming house, had the perfect location, and lot’s of light. we specially liked that it was a block from magazine street and so close to whole foods and district coffee, that we would stroll there every day! the neighbours were really friendly and luckily we were still there for halloween, which was lot’s of fun too. needless to say, julia loved hanging out in the porch, watching the dogs walking by or checking out the pumpkins across the street.

we loved our first little new orleans home and would recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone visiting or moving here. if you’d like to see a few more pictures of the house or other info, click here.
