sea-sage-on-myseastory-1 i first met Amy through her instagram account, and immediately felt drawn to her inspiring pictures of turks and caicos. she moved here when she was only two months old and having grown up surrounded by sea and sun, she founded Sea Sage, a resort wear brand that has an ode to our islands.

print vibrancy and vivid colour is integral to the designs of her scarves, each print consists of a pattern from a single photograph taken in turks and caicos and are all made in the u.k. on crepe de chine silk, and lovingly hand hemmed back on provo.

Amy currently lives in london and works as a freelance graphic designer. she tries to take every spare moment to travel to keep inspired, some of her favourite places are marrakech, cinque terre, and new york city. here she shares her favourite places on island, where she finds inspiration and her tips on planning a trip to turks and caicos –

growing up in provo you must know the islands pretty well, which is your favorite beach?

Leeward Beach. I like walking from Grace Bay to the end of Leeward (the point) where most tourists don’t venture. Taking in the calm waters while looking for shells in the shallows, you can collect a range of conch shells, coral, and sometimes a sea fan!

are there any favorite restaurants you love?

Coco Bisto. Set amoungst the palms which contrast against the bright orange resturant, you can’t go wrong. My favourite dish is their chicken with coconut curry, banana chutney, and crispy popadom.

and your best spot to watch the sunset?

Amanyara, with a champagne mojito in hand. This is the optimum spot to watch the sun go down and wait for the bright pinks and purples to appear.
do you have any favorite spots to shop on island?

Wish Boutique at The Palms. The boutique is full of great resort wear options, from swimwear to floaty dresses, the bright colours and soft fabrics are what keep me coming back. I also always stop in Paradise Arts and see what the new products they have, I can’t get enough of bright ceramic peices that remind me of home.

what useful tips would you give someone planning a trip to TCI?

Do a bit of research before you come to get the most out of your trip. I often talk to people who don’t think of venturing to other islands mostly becuase they don’t really know where to begin. Its very easy to travel to other islands and it makes the perfect day trip! Don’t forget your camera charger, you will be taking tons of photos (mostly of how the blue the water is…). Also to be aware if you are going to rent a car, that people in the Turks and Caicos drive on the left, be prepared!
