soprarno suites / florence

soprarno-suites-by-myseastory-3during our vacation in portugal we were itching for a city break that would make us feel we were abroad. florence seemed like the obvious choice – it’s close (we could get a direct flight to bologna and then a quick train into the city centre of florence), perfect city to walk, great for shopping, and the food never disappoints!

we stayed at a really cute bed and breakfast, soprarno suites, and loved it!

the last time i visited (2 years ago), i stayed for a week with my mum and sister, so this time we took it really easy. we strolled all day, stopping for gelato and the occasional carousel ride for julia, making a long lunch break back at our bed and breakfast before heading out for more exploring in the afternoon.

i was totally blown away by the decor of this place, each room was different and the public areas had so many cute little details! and the breakfast was delicious – impossible to have only one cappuccino!

our room was so spacious, perfect for julia to run around, to have long naps in the peak of the sun and long baths before heading out for dinner. i loved that our room was located right next to the breakfast room, so we would help ourselves to tea every night before bed time.

one night, julia was so tired we picked up some pizza from gusta pizza, just around the corner, they have the best and cheapest pizza in florence. oh, and they make this cute heart shaped pizzas too!soprarno-suites-by-myseastory-6soprarno-suites-by-myseastory-11

the location was perfect, close to the city centre but away from all the tourists, and with so many charming piazzas and restaurants around the corner. the staff were really friendly, gave us plenty of insightful recommendations of things to do in the city.

this place is a hidden gem, we really felt at home here and will definitely be back next time we visit florence!

ps – some other favourite places we’ve stayed
